About This Game An artistic narrative designed to evoke a surreal feeling in the player on a psychological level. The work is not structured like a typical game, one could even describe it as an anti-game in that there are no "Game Overs." Don't let that fool you though, it's a platformer-puzzle-advanture with a handful of different endings! 7aa9394dea Title: Remnants of a Beautiful DayGenre: Adventure, Casual, Indie, SimulationDeveloper:From Soy Sauce LLCPublisher:From Soy Sauce LLCRelease Date: 25 May, 2016 Remnants Of A Beautiful Day Best Crack remnants of a beautiful day Its not bad, it has a spooky atmosphere without taking the easy way out and jump-scaring you. I give a I give 3 Spoopy \/ 5 Me -IGN. This game could be amazing. The setting is really cool and gave me the creeps a couple of times, not by a jumpscare or anything, but by a world thought out really well, even though it is simple. The word I'm looking for is 'effective'. The setting was really effective. As I was walking there I felt a strange connection to the world around me, which is kinda hard to describe, but was somewhat beautiful and frightening at the same time. That was nicely done and just made me wish the game was finished.'Cause it feels like it isn't... The platforming just feels awkward, there are some nasty bugs around and the scene transitions (as is said in other reviews) are of the worst. At first I thought my game had crashed, but no, it happened again and again and again. And as of that, it kind of ruined the amazing feeling I felt in the other parts of the game, which is a damn shame. So please, developer, tweak your game just a little bit more. The outcome would be an amazing experience, because it's all there already. Just shadowed by some annoying negatives. It's hard, but for now, no.... This game could be amazing. It brings me back to platformers I played on the n64. The 3d first person completely manual camera takes some time to get used to but it's part of the challenge I found. I loved the music. Really set the mood perfectly. Was this really made in 3 days?. It could have been such a beautiful day. Instead, it turned into a nightmare of confusing graphics, an effect orgy, where I got lost due to unconfigurable inputs disabling me to pass obstacles borrowed from old arcade games, wrapped in sugar-sweet shader beauty. If I would have been able to enjoy this beauty till the end, I could have recommended this game. But frustration came too soon, for a game that was promoted as casual experience. Repeating a scene over and over for jumping into a graphic stutter or waiting a moment too long is not my kind of joy.. It could have been such a beautiful day. But frustration came too soon, for a game that was promoted as casual experience. Repeating a scene over and over for jumping into a graphic stutter or waiting a moment too long is not my kind of joy.. This game reminds me of the half-baked freeware games that I had way more patience for growing up. Except unfortunately I paid money for this one. Imagine Myst, but change the colors randomly, repeat the same scenery over and over, dumb down the controls and graphics, then remove any aspects of gameplay or excitement. This game is tedious, confusing, jittery, simplistic, nausiating, and just not well made. I stopped playing when I got hopelessly lost on a 'level' with giant grabby disgusting hands floating everywhere. I'm fan of surealism and dreamy games, but the game was not thought through. 'Anti-game' is a good description. I'm actually pro game, so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy this. What I didn't like: - Jumping and moving is rudamentary, sticky and disorienting. It takes a lot of patience and effort to get anywhere. - Zero help in game to know what to do. I wasn't even sure there was any way to progress for a while. Then when I did advance, I thought it crashed the game for a second, because you get a blue screen.- The aesthetic choices are novel, but stomach-turning when you have to look at it for as long as you do while you try to figure out what you're supposed to be doing. The patterns and colors look nice at a distance, but when you have to get super close to objects to jump on them, they look shoddy.. So so BORINGThere's no continuity or design in the layout or visuals, and it just feels like a load of random half-finished ideas thrown together in whatever order they came across them. There's almost nothing to do except walk around aimlessly...and even that doesn't work well as you can get stuck in places. Oh, and there's a REALLY bad input lag as well.. Its not bad, it has a spooky atmosphere without taking the easy way out and jump-scaring you. I give a I give 3 Spoopy \/ 5 Me -IGN. The gfx and music quickly builds an atmosphere for this title and fills you with curiousity of whats ahead. Narrative seems to be told through the scenery and events, and at points even looks like it takes place in a dream. Visuals range from environemental eye-candy to dark imagery. The OST is spot on for every mood the developer(s) intended to convey. There's a bit of a difficulty spike in platforming and memory puzzles early on, and you'll find yourself lost or wondering if you can even clear a section. It becomes easier once you figure out how to approach, and making near-impossible leaps can be fun. I will say that there are some areas that are better to use the arrow keys and others the mouse (haven't played on pad).A challenging, yet decent, first-person platformer with the undertones of a creepy-pasta, boosted N64 styled gfx, and gorgeous, mood-setting music. Beginning to end your first time is about an hour and half, but multiple endings and in-game achievements (unlocks?) gives it replayability.
